Overall Thoughts: This was one wild SummerSlam. Plenty of Ups and Down throughout the event.

Orton vs. Sheamus was a solid opener for a fued that NOBODY gives a rat’s ass about. If you were to ignore that fact and take the match at face value, it was a solid match. Please, let this feud end….But that’s just wishful thinking.

The Fatal Four Way for the Tag Team Titles was really fun to watch. it was very spotty but it was really fun and it didn’t overshadowed the rest of the card. As much as I enjoy The Prime Time Players as Champions., putting the gold back on New Day was a smart move.

Ziggler/Rusev was a disappointment. Seriously?! A Double Count-Out?! Save that crap for the 1991 House Shows!

The Comic Book Tag Team Match was good. Amell held his own in the ring. He looked like he belonged in the ring which is good.

Reigns/Ambrose vs. Wyatt/Harper was good. But it was a bit too short of a match and it seem like they were holding back for a bigger match down the line. If it was longer, it would have gotten a better score in my eyes.

Cena/Rollins is another Match Of The Year Candidate that involved John Cena. This match kicked ass and it tore the house down. As far as this year goes, Cena has been having a great year when it comes to these matches. Both guys brought their best in this one and made it feel like a Main Event match worthy of SummerSlam. The Jon Stewart part I never saw coming and I know that I’m not the only one on that. And for the people still complaining about it. Just be happy that Cena is not the 16 Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion…….At least not yet.

The biggest disappointment is the Divas Match. Sasha Banks was eliminated way too damn early. Plus it was clear that the NXT Divas are miles ahead of Team Bella and did it show in that match. Well, at least Becky Lynch got the pinfall win for her team.

Owens/Cesaro was a great match. It wasn’t the classic many have anticipated but I really enjoyed it for what it was. It would go down as like a forgotten classic in a few years but it is a good one plus the right man won in Owens. I really hope they continue this feud heading forward.

Now, onto the main event. Taker vs. Lesnar and the match was WAY better than their WrestleMania encounter 14 months ago. Also, put in the fact that Taker is about 50 years old and performed like he is in his prime. It was just unreal. The moment of the match was the Double Sit Up with Brock laughing and Taker laughing. it was one of the most scariest yet hilarious things I have ever seen. Now for the finish….This is a polarizing subject but shockingly….I kinda didn’t mind the ending that match. I really hope we don’t get Taker/Lesnar 3 at WrestleMania and just have Undertaker/Sting at that event. Please, WWE?! Pretty Please?!

Overall, this was a great SummerSlam. Some Great Matches and just one Terrible Match. But if you compare this to NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, I would go for the NXT show but this one came close.

About Theo Clardy

Well, I was born and raised in Southern California and a graduated from Sonora High School in 1999. Right now, I’m just trying to kick back and try to enjoy life to the fullest. People that know me find me to be a funny and interesting guy. I’m pretty much a nice guy and good to get along with once you get to know me. My family and friends is a very important thing in my life. I never have a girlfriend but hopefully I can find that woman of my dreams someday. I know that sounds sappy and pathetic but that’s how I feel. lol
